Jeffrey Lurie stated in a press conference at the state of
the team address that 8-8 was unacceptable for this season. Although there is
no clear definition on what it will take for the Andy Reid regime to end in
Philadelphia there are speculations. We all know 8-8 will definitely force
Lurie to make some moves in the organization. Will he move Andy Reid. I highly
doubt Philadelphia will ever see the fire of Reid. If Lurie makes any moves it
will be in a lateral transfer of Reid to the Eagles front office, and it will
be Reid’s decision if he would take the offer or decide to walk for
Philadelphia. Marty and Castillo will both be in the hot seat and 8-8 in my
opinion will lead in the termination of their services.
As the season has played on the city has seen plenty of old
familiar Andy Reid style of Football, but I have observed one difference. I see
Andy Reid with a sense of urgency. Andy Reid knows this will be his last chance
as a coach for the Eagles. Andy has been very emotional during games and has shown
a tad bit more animation on the sidelines. I have also seen Reid take chances
while usually Andy is known to play it safe. Whether or not Andy will be gone
at the end of the season will be the talk of the town until D-day in the
off-season, but one thing is for sure if the Eagles do not turn the season
around after the bye week Andy’s chances will be slim to none.
